The Polar Music Prize is proud to present a star-studded lineup of Swedish and international artists who will honour this year’s Laureates Queen, Herbie Hancock and Barbara Hannigan at the awards ceremony and banquet on Tuesday, May 27.
Adam Lambert, the GRAMMY® nominated singer/songwriter and frontman of Queen, will take to the stage with a showstopping performance. GRAMMY® winner Ghost – one of the world’s biggest rock bands who just reached #1 on the Billboard 200 album charts (and #1 around the world, including in Sweden) – will perform with Opeth guitarist Fredrik Åkesson.
Also joining the festivities is five-time GRAMMY® award winning pianist and producer Robert Glasper, GRAMMY® awarded Argentinian pianist Leo Genovese, and internationally acclaimed jazz bassist and singer Esperanza Spalding, as previously announced. Two of Sweden’s pre-eminent voices Miriam Bryant and Erik Grönwall (from H.E.A.T and Skid Row), the renowned Eric Ericson Chamber Choir conducted by Maria Goundorina and students from Musikhögskolan Ingesund will also perform.
The ceremony will be hosted by mezzo-soprano and journalist Boel Adler with Stefan Olsson leading the Polar Music Prize band.
The Polar Music Prize 2025 is set to be a magical night of celebrations with live music from outstanding artists.
Watch the ceremony live on May 27 on TV4 Play from 18:00 CET and on Polar Music Prize’s Youtube Channel, and the banquet on TV4 from 20.00 CET (available internationally).
