The Polar Music Prize is happy to welcome Afghanistan’s first all female orchestra Zohra to Sweden for three concerts in March 2019.
The Zohra orchestra was founded in 2014 and is part of The Afghanistan National Institute of Music, Laureate of 2018. Zohra is a unique orchestra in Afghanistan, consisting of 25 young female musicians. During their tour in Sweden, local Swedish musicians will join them on stage at each concert.
March 8, Stockholm
Berwaldhallen (in collaboration with Sveriges Radio, SR). A seminar on Afghanistan organised by SR will precede the concert. The seminar will highlight the situation in Afghanistan today and is presented in honour of Nils Horner, SR’s foreign correspondent who was killed in Kabul in 2014. Tickets & more info here.
